About

Dr. Soliz brings over 35 plus years of proven leadership, experience and knowledge from the private sector, higher educational institutions as well as volunteer board positions.

Work Experience

Dr. Soliz has a combination of private sector and higher education experience. He has worked in the corporate world as a Human Resource Manager. In higher education, he has served as a professor and has held leadership positions as an Associate Chair and Division Chair in Business Administration, as well as President. He received his doctorate in Human Resource Development from Texas A&M University in 1997.

Teaching

His experiences in the classroom have varied from teaching general business undergraduate classes to graduate courses in management. He has presented research papers on the subject of first generation student success at University of South Carolina, Arizona State University and Texas A&M University.

Awards

He has received academic excellence awards from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, from students and peers. These awards were given to him while working with students at Houston Community College, Our Lady of the Lake University, University of Hawaii and Texas A&M University.

International Experience

Dr. Soliz’ s educational experiences include lecturing internationally at the University of Oxford’s Lincoln College (England), Monterrey Tec (Mexico) and Saigon Tec (Vietnam).

Dr. Soliz has awareness of multi-cultural issues. He worked in Germany, was employed by a private Belgian company, coached Korean executives from SK Corporation and has traveled extensively in Europe and Southeast Asia. He provided training seminars to management personnel from various industries in Vietnam.

He has also published internationally in the Oxford Journal of Public Policy 2005. In 2014 he wrote a paper titled, “Developing Your Professional Image,” and presented his findings at The Image Conference in Berlin, Germany.

Organizations

He is active in the Association of Former Students, the 12th Man Association, Caring Aggies Mentoring Program (CAMP) and the Houston Reveille Club. Dr. Soliz served his country during the Vietnam era in the U.S. Air Force.

As an advocate of Servant Leadership, he uses this model in his coaching as well as humor in his practice.
